Customer Services and Benefits

How Job Placement Supportn Works

Customer Services and Benefits

Our main services encompass:
  • Apply for Support
  • Inland Logistics
  • Ship Chartering
How the Coding Academy Works

Inland Logistics

We partner with your freight forwarder, customs agent, port agent and others in several or all of the following areas:
  • Vessel Operations
  • Trucking
  • Stevedoring
  • Railroads
  • Barging
  • Inventory
  • Supervision
  • Warehousing

SHIP CHARTERING

MBC helps you to control the timing and quantity of your shipments. When you buy FOB and sell CFR, you control the entire transportation component of your shipment. You receive all of the benefits, instead of your transaction counterpart. You control when the cargo is loaded.

If your buyer or seller wishes to do the chartering, then always ask for an FOB or CFR price, so their freight assumption can be checked. There will often be occasions when it is advisable for them to do the chartering.

Corporate Background

Maritime Brokers & Consultants was founded in 1977 and acquired by the SeaTrade Transport International, Inc. (S.T.I.) group of companies in the late 1990s. S.T.I. is a multinational enterprise engaged in waterborne commerce. The group owns and operates dry-bulk oceangoing vessels and is a leading distributor of various commodities throughout the world.

CONTROLLED COST & FACTORS

You will have the flexibility to lock in freight ahead of time in a rising market, or to fix at the last possible moment in a falling market.

Often times a cargo is sold with a 10% tolerance. With volatile commodity prices, you will either want to minimize or maximize the quantity loaded, depending on your commercial considerations (i.e. sales price vs. spot price at loading time).

You will be able to charter the ship at your convenience according to your cargo reading or demand schedule which reduces the possibility of delays for trucks, railcars, barges and prevents expensive delays to vessels at the Ports.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

MBC's partners currently operate a self-discharging service in the Port of Paranagua, Brazil, using our ORTS Grabs (shown here). Another set of specialized grapples are available in Houston, which handle scrap, pig iron and other commodities and are available for your cargoes.

FULL-SERVICE MARINE TRANSPORTATION SPECIALISTS

Maritime Brokers & Consultants (MBC) is a full-service marine transportation specialist for dry-bulk and break-bulk commodities. We act as advocates for our charterer clients - not the shipowners.

MBC AND YOUR COMPANY

Our services are without direct cost to you. In return, MBC is granted the privilege of handling your shipment when ready. When business has been concluded our commission is simply deducted from the freight you pay to the ship owners.
